Reason Number 2 I love My Gray Hair--I can Dye it With Koolaid Now!

I was looking up cool ways to use Koolaid for my Making It From Page to Table blog and I saw so many cute pictures of hair dyed with Koolaid.  Yes,  I know. . . . I'm 42.  But, now that my hair isn't dark brown anymore, color will show up!!  I wanted to put a pink streak in my hair for the Warrior Dash when we do it in June.  And Koolaid sounds like a fun way to go! I know people have been doing this forever.  Check out all of these cute pictures of Koolaid Hair from Pinterest!

Who says a 42 year old can't have pink streaks?

Have you ever wanted an outrageous color just for fun?

  1. That's a cool idea! Is your picture up there...did I miss it? You gotta show us how it turned out.

  2. What a Kool idea! This looks like something fun to try for a special event (Like the warrior dash). Any idea how difficult it is to get out of your hair once applied? While it looks fun, I'd hate to end up with it for months or even weeks.

  3. I have to say that we attempted the Kool Aid thing with my daughter's hair, and it didn't turn out anything like the pictures. It wasn't vivid at all- it was really muted and washed out immediately. We were super disappointed.

Let me know if it works out for you. We may have been doing it wrong.

  4. OmiGod I LOVE this! Maybe hair has to have texture to color best? Processed hair might take it on better. And if there is a problem getting rid of color, maybe a product called Metalex would take it out. When I was younger, I had streaked hair & dyed it black for Halloween & ended up with green streaks! metalex cleaned it right up. I always wanted blue hair & at my age, I still threaten my mom with it! What a fun blog, I am glad to have discovered it on A-Z blogfest.
